Palmer Motorsports Park

Palmer Motorsports Park is a planned motorsports park in Hampden County, Massachusetts, located at the intersection of West Ware Road and Bacon Road in the town of Palmer. The creation of the track was approved by Palmer on December 4, 2007, and as of 2009 the proposal was undergoing review by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection.[1] Upon its completion, Palmer will feature a 2.14-mile road course.

Once it is completed, Palmer will become the "flagship" track of the New England Region of the Sports Car Club of America. Like Buttonwillow Raceway Park in California, Palmer will be owned and operated by a limited liability company created by the region. At present, NER operates at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, New Hampshire and Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Connecticut. Due to their heavy use by NASCAR, the costs of renting these tracks has become steeper (combined with the remote location and high cost of lodging at Lime Rock), precipitating NER's proposal for the creation of their own track.[2]
